These terms cover your use of shop.betterselfbetterlife.com and anything you buy from it. The store is operated by Better Self Better Life Enterprises LLC. Placing an order means you accept them.
What is sold here
This store sells published books: The Anxious Girl’s Guide workbook, the Inner Calm Planner, and the two as a bundle. Both titles come in English and Spanish. Nothing else is offered here.
These books are not treatment
This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is not buried at the bottom.
The books are self-help tools written by a licensed clinical social worker. They are not therapy, diagnosis or treatment, and buying them does not create a therapeutic or clinical relationship of any kind. Nothing on this store is clinical advice about a particular young person, and nothing here replaces care from a qualified professional who knows her.
If you are worried about your daughter’s immediate safety, call or text 988 in the United States. You can also go to your nearest emergency department. Do not wait on a book.
Who can buy
You must be 18 or older to place an order. The books are written for readers aged roughly 13 to 18, and are intended to be bought by a parent or carer.
Orders and prices
Prices are in US dollars and shown on each product page. I can refuse or cancel an order, and if I do you are refunded in full. If a price or description is wrong I will tell you before your order ships and you can cancel.
Shipping terms are set out in the shipping policy, and refunds in the refund policy. Both form part of these terms.
Copyright
The books, their text, exercises, worksheets and artwork are copyright Melissa Garvey and are licensed to you for personal use within one family. You may photocopy worksheets for your own daughter’s use. You may not resell, redistribute or reproduce any part of the books for a class, a group, a practice or a business. Written permission is needed first. Ask me: melissa@BetterSelfBetterLife.com. Group and clinician use is usually fine, I just need to know.
Your account and conduct
Keep your account details to yourself. Do not use this store to break the law, to impersonate anyone, or to interfere with how the site runs.

Some links point to sites I do not run, including my clinical practice site and the book preview service. I am not responsible for their content or their policies.
Liability
The store and the books are provided as they are. Better Self Better Life Enterprises LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss from your use of the store or the books. That applies to the fullest extent the law allows. Total liability for any claim will not exceed what you paid for that order. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Privacy
How your information is handled is set out in the privacy policy.
Changes
I may update these terms. The version in force is whichever is on this page when you order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and the courts of California have exclusive jurisdiction.
